We went to the ice caves they were fabulous we had the most amazing tour guide who looked after our family so well. The tour guides told us all about the ice caves and glaciers. Thank you! Full review by Ruth M

They are very well behaved and absolutely fit, and it it seems most tours take kids only from 8yo or even 10... thanks a million Florence

Your best bet would be to calll the company and find out what they have available for children 6 and older. I’m sure they would be able to help you.

If you need a tour with transfer from Reykjavík it would have to be Sólheimajökull, since the Vatnajökull area is too far away for a day trip and self-driving in winter can be dangerous for …

If you need a tour with transfer from Reykjavík it would have to be Sólheimajökull, since the Vatnajökull area is too far away for a day trip and self-driving in winter can be dangerous for people without Arctic winter driving experience (plus will require lots of monitoring work and flexibility). If you are planning to self-drive, I would recommend Falljökull as a tour from Skaftafell (meet on location), but that should be at least a 3-day trip from Reykjavík.

Because we use the tour guides for everything including transportation and did not rent a car, I don’t think I can answer that question for you. I loved having the tour guides take us everywhere and explain what everything was. And they did it in monster trucks with huge tires and it was so much fun. If you feel you can do the car rental good for you! However I thought it was worth spending the extra money to have the two were guide to take us. And our whole day was jampacked with seeing the glorious beauty of Iceland!

And I would assume that they’re able to work around your schedule! We landed at 4:30 in the morning and they picked us up. So I highly highly highly recommend them
