Earthlings can keep their plans seven years from now after scientists have officially declared Asteroid 2024 YR4 is not a threat to our planet.

The chance that an asteroid capable of wiping out a city will hit Earth in eight years has been cut in half to around 1.5 percent, according to new calculations from NASA.

YR4 could strike Earth in 2032. Its size ranges from 40 to 90 meters. The asteroid could cause significant damage, especially to populated areas. The impact probability has decreased recently. NASA and the European Space Agency are monitoring it closely.
