Having apparently just heard of this super-new, completely unknown musical phenomenon called K-pop, Apple TV+ has decided to find a way to render the genre in the single way that will be most perfectly palatable to average American ears: By turning it into a reality music competition show, under Megan Thee Stallion’s watchful eye.
Megan Thee Stallion Is Getting ‘KPOPPED’ With Psy In Apple TV’s New Song Battle Series
Executive produced by Lionel Richie and Miky Lee, the show will be hosted by Megan Thee Stallion and “Gangnam Style” rapper Psy. Set in Seoul, each episode will pair a different Western recording artist with a K-pop idol to remix, then perform tracks before a live audience in a competition to see whose “K-popped” song comes out on top.
