A bushfire erupted at Ted Williams National Park in Poway, San Diego, on Sunday, burning 2-3 acres. Authorities issued evacuation orders for nearby areas. The City of Poway later announced forward progress was halted,

Fire crews were able to stop the forward progress of a 3-acre brush fire in Poway — dubbed the Ted Williams Fire — that broke out just after 1 p.m. Monday near a hiking trail by the intersection of Ted Williams Pkwy and Pomerado Road, just behind the Poway Fire Department Station 3.

The fire was reported at Ted Williams Parkway at Pomerado Road early Monday afternoon.  People were being asked to evacuate in the area of Wilsey Way.

Cal Fire, the Poway Fire Department and San Diego Fire-Rescue converged on the blaze, which had reached 3 acres in size and threatened nearby structures before forward progress was reported to have been stopped around 3 p.
