At least five people have died overnight as Russian drone and missile strikes continued to pound Ukraine’s towns and cities, local officials said. Meanwhile, Moscow’s troops continued their grinding advance through the country’s east.

Ukraine has launched its second major drone attack in a week against Russian oil refineries hundreds of miles from its borders.

The reported strike comes two nights after Ukrainian forces launched a joint attack against the refinery that allegedly damaged multiple on-site facilities.

A new drone bomber may have joined Ukraine’s escalating assault on Russia’s oil industry. On Wednesday night or early Thursday morning, drones operated by the Ukrainian 14th Separate Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Regiment struck a pumping station on the Druzhba pipeline along the Russian-Belarusian border in Bryansk Oblast.

"This refinery is one of the 10 largest oil refineries in Russia in terms of design capacity and is involved in supplying the Russian occupatying army," the General Staff said in a statement.

A Ukrainian drone attack ignited a fire at a Russian oil refinery in Volgograd, injuring one worker. Kyiv has intensified strikes on Russian energy infrastructure, previously hitting refineries in Nizhny Novgorod and Ryazan.
