The satirical outlet The Onion purchased Alex Jones’s vile hate machine at bankruptcy auction with the help of the families of eight victims of the Sandy Hook massacre.

The satirical news company plans to shutter Jones’ Infowars and rebuild the website featuring well-known internet humor writers and content creators, according to a person with knowledge of the sale.

InfoWars was bought by The Onion in a court ordered auction against Alex Jones, who owes over $1billion to families of Sandy Hook shooting victims.
