Six flights were diverted, more than 300 flights delayed and departures were briefly put on hold at the Delhi airport early morning on Wednesday as low visibility conditions due to dense fog significantly impacted operations.

Delhi airport operator DIAL said that while landings and takeoffs are ongoing, flights not compliant with CAT III standards may be affected.

According to FlightRadar24, Delhi Airport reported an average delay of 29 minutes for arriving flights and 55 minutes for departures as of 12 pm. As many as 320 flights have been delayed and 13 cancelled so far at IGI Airport. An official confirmed that no flight diversions have been reported so far.

Dense fog and cold weather delayed train and flight departures in several parts of northern India, including its capital New Delhi.
