Monday was the second annual New Year’s Eve cheese drop in Monroe. To celebrate the new year, a Limburger cheese box made by Monroe high school students was dropped, but with a catch.

As such, a whole host of cheese-centric dishes, like fried cheese curds, Milwaukee-style pizza, and, of course, the Limburger sandwich, became a quintessential part of the cuisine in Wisconsin.
