Sony Interactive Entertainment announced it will be ramping down how many PS4 games it will offer through PS Plus benefits.

Sony warns current PlayStation Plus subscribers that PlayStation 4 games are no longer guaranteed key benefits of the freebie games catalog.

Thankfully, that game is part of the PS Plus game catalog and it’s a substantially entertaining game in its own right. There are few things more satisfying in gaming than this series’ slow-mo sniper kills.

So, from January 2026 onwards, native PS5 titles will be the focus of PS Plus, across all three tiers. There will still be a PS4 version thrown in here and there, but it should no longer be an expectation in 12 months. How do you feel about this change to the service? PlayStation has revealed that PS4 games will be deprioritized by PS Plus updates starting next year, marking a new, quieter era for the console.

PlayStation Plus is moving away from offering monthly PlayStation 4 games beginning in 2026. The paid subscription service will still offer them “occasionally,” but the main focus of the program will be PS5 games, and it only took almost the entirety of the current console’s life-cycle to see customer demand get there.
