With an expected launch in January 2025, Samsung’s Galaxy S family will again set the smartphone tone for the first half of the year. It looks like Samsung is preparing a significant update for the S25 family in general and the Galaxy S25 Ultra in particular. Why else would you give it the internal codename of “paradigm”?

Several images surfaced over the weekend from noted leaker Ice Universe showing off an alleged Galaxy S25 Ultra case. Based on what's there, it looks like the Galaxy S25 Ultra will ditch the sharp corners of the Galaxy S24 Ultra and adopt a more rounded design that's more comfortable to hold in your hand.

In a post on X, reliable leaker Ice Universe claims the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will sport an upgraded 50MP ultrawide camera. The supposedly 1/2.52" large sensor will feature an f/1.9 wide aperture and 0.7µm pixels. For comparison, the Galaxy S24 Ultra 's 12MP ultrawide shooter is 1/2.55" big with 1.4µm large pixels.

If these new leaks of the S25 Ultra are any indicator, buyers can expect more of the same, featuring the recognizable silhouette but presumably thinner and lighter this time around.

One of these comes from Ice Universe – a reliable leaker when it comes to Samsung phones – and points to the fact that the Galaxy S25 Ultra is going to be more compact. The measurements are given as 162.8 x 77.6 x 8.2mm. That’s smaller than the Galaxy S24 Ultra, most noticeably in width, losing just over a millimetre.

A regulatory filing has revealed charging speeds for the Samsung Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus. And there's bad news for the base model.
