As of 8 a.m., Columbus Division of Fire crews were still fighting the blaze. Geitter said no injuries had been reported and that fire officials suspected no hazardous materials in the fire.

The victim has been identified as 15-year-old Earkavion Lee, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds, according to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan. “We believe he was shot getting off the school bus,” Bryan told the Ledger-Enquirer. Lee was pronounced dead at 5:15 p.m., Bryan said.
