TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Much of north Florida was shut down Wednesday after a winter storm blanketed the region in ice and snow. The state urged everyone to remain off the roads until it is safe to drive.

Forecasters said it was too early to tell whether the ice and snow would approach or beat Tallahassee’s all-time snowfall record of 2.8 inches set in 1958.

Snow in the Sunshine State doesn't happen very often. But it did. And here are the photos from Pensacola to Yulee to prove it.
