The Philadelphia 76ers will need a miracle if they are going to make genuine noise in the playoffs, given all the adversity and issues they continue to endure, but the team is doing its best to salvage this tumultuous campaign.

Tyrese Maxey kicked off the Sixers’ six-game homestand with a brilliant performance Tuesday night. He dropped 43 points and the Sixers notched a 118-104 win over the Lakers at Wells Fargo Center. With their third straight victory, the Sixers moved to 18-27. The Lakers fell to 26-19.

Tyrese Maxey’s scoring prowess is drawing comparisons to some of the 76ers’ all-time greats. The point guard scored a game-high 43 points Tuesday in a 118-104 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers at the Wells Fargo Center.
