MnDOT’s goal is to have a choice in hand by 2026 and designs ready by 2029, paving the way for a multi-billion dollar reconstruction of I-94 from Marion Street in St. Paul to Hiawatha Avenue/Minnesota 55 in Minneapolis in 2030 or thereafter.
The state patrol says the pursuit started around 4:20 p.m. Wednesday after the motorist failed to stop for a trooper near I-94 and Cretin Ave. in St. Paul.

The Minnesota State Patrol says a man was driving a 2015 Jeep Cherokee westbound on Interstate 94 when it left the roadway around 1:42 a.m. While exiting to Mounds Boulevard, the vehicle struck the overhead sign post. The vehicle then caught fire.

An investigation is underway following a deadly crash just east of downtown St. Paul early Sunday morning. It happened around 1:42 a.m. along Interstate 94, where the Minnesota State Patrol says a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee left the roadway while exiting at Mounds Boulevard.
Thirty-three-year-old Krista Voerding of Big Lake was driving west approaching Highway 101. Traffic was backed up and she swerved to avoid the stopped vehicles in her lane and collided with two other vehicles. Voerding was taken to North Memorial with life-threatening injuries.
