Milwaukee Public Schools, University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and Marquette University will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 21.

With extremely cold temperatures and wind chills blasting the Milwaukee area — and much of Wisconsin — some schools have decided to close for the day Tuesday.

UPDATE at 10:15 p.m. CST on Monday, Jan. 20: Marquette University classes are canceled for Tuesday. The university said in a news release all classes are canceled including in-person, synchronous and asynchronous online.

The Bruins won Friday by 24 over Iowa to snap a 4-game losing streak. They are 9-1 at Pauley Pavilion this season. The Badgers’ record is a perfect 5-0 in their last 5 tilts. Wisconsin won at USC Saturday, 84-69. They are 2-2 on the road this season.

The addition of UW-Milwaukee and Marquette extends the reach of the Current Research Consortium into Wisconsin.
