He was a two-time Consensus All-American, a two-time All-Big Ten player, a two-time Big Ten Running Back of the Year, and the Big Ten Most Valuable Player and Offensive Player of the Year in 2011.

On December 9, 2025, the Badger legend will be formally inducted at the National Football Foundation Awards Dinner alongside players such as former Green Bay Packers quarterback and Texas Tech legend Graham Harrell, Virginia Tech quarterback Michael Vick, West Virginia RB Steve Slaton, and Texas Southern DL Michael Strahan.
