A man accused in a shooting that led to the shutdown of a busy Columbia road Monday morning has been charged with assault.

The crash happened around 6:35 p.m. Monday in southern Boone County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Police arrested Ataveon Gordon and Jared Britt, Jr. in connection with the shooting that left one person injured.
