The Palm Beach County Commission has returned to Democratic control with Democrats Joel Flores and Bobby Powell Jr. defeating Republican challengers.

The canvass of the votes cast in the general election will be held Tuesday at the Wood County Courthouse. The Wood County Commission will gather Tuesday at 9 a.m. as the canvassing board to review and certify the results from the November General Election.

Ron DeSantis in 2023 to fill a vacancy left by former Commissioner Kristine Zonka, who stepped down after being hired to lead the Florida Department of Health in Brevard County.Steele chose not to run for reelection after finishing his appointed term.
