The Grand Slam is on for Ireland after riveting second round of Six Nations rugby. England came into title contention by shocking France 26-25 at Twickenham on Saturday night. The wooden spoon was probably decided in rainy Rome when Italy defeated Wales in successive matches for the first time.

That was followed by Scotland convincingly defeating Italy with a 31-19 scoreline thanks to heroics from Huw Jones. It was the same old story for England, as they gave up a half-time lead to succumb to a narrow 27-22 loss to Ireland.

Rugby’s Greatest Championship continues this weekend with matches at the Stadio Olimpico, Twickenham and Murrayfield.
