Secretary of State Marco Rubio appeared exasperated and sighed on Tuesday when a reporter asked President Trump about his plans to “take over” Gaza. The president met with the King of Jordan at the White House to discuss his ultimatum of withholding aid from Jordan and Egypt if they don’t comply with his proposal to re-house Palestinians as part of his plan for U.

Rubio is visiting the Middle East after President Donald Trump infuriated the Arab world with a proposal for the Palestinian residents of the war-torn strip to be resettled in other Arab nations and for the U.S. to lead reconstruction of the enclave.

Trump’s proposal to relocate Palestinians out of Gaza and take over the territory was rejected by several foreign nations, including Saudi Arabia, Turkey and China.
