Less than a half-inch of rainfall has been recorded in most local areas, according to the Ventura County Watershed Protection District. Normal rainfall this time of year runs from 6 to 9 inches.
"The fire has been mapped at 55.7 acres with 0 percent containment," a Ventura County Fire Department spokesperson said.
