A winter storm warning has been issued for all of Middle Tennessee. While most areas could receive between three to six inches of snow on Friday, some areas could see as much as seven inches.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for all of Middle Tennessee for Friday into Saturday as we expect inches of snow. Meteorologist Greg Bobos says the Winter Storm Watch goes into effect Friday morning through 6 a.m. Saturday for all Middle Tennessee counties in our viewing area.

A major winter storm, bringing significant snow accumulation, has arrived in Middle Tennessee. Here is when you can expect the snow to move out.

As temperatures dip down below freezing this week, and with anticipated snow and ice in the area, multiple cities in Middle Tennessee have opened up warming or cold weather shelters for those in need.

Williamson County and other areas south of I-40 face a wind advisory on Sunday afternoon, with very cold temperatures forecast through the week.
