DETROIT (FOX 2) - A Detroit 4-year-old boy is lucky to be alive after finding an unsecured gun and shooting himself in the hand on Friday. Capt. Mike Dicicco told FOX 2's Hilary Golston that they believe the 4-year-old boy got access to an unsecured gun and then shot himself in the hand.

A Michigan law requires firearm owners to keep unattended weapons unloaded and locked or stored away in a gun safe if a child is in the home.

The social media post didn't just lead to an arrest, but a break in a separate nonfatal shooting case last year.
