DXOMARK has released its “Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max Camera Test” based on an analysis of 3,000 photos and 150 hours of video. The test measures the smartphone’s performance in photo, video, and zoom quality from an end-user perspective.

The camera system in the iPhone 16 Pro Max is the fourth-best of its kind in the world, but it manages to top the list when it comes to video capabilities.

For better or for worse, the iPhone 16 has a nearly identical look and feel as the iPhone 12. Apple has added a lot other features between 2020 and 2024, but it’s undeniable that the days of frequent hardware changes are over.
