The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said 653 aid trucks entered the Gaza Strip on Thursday, the fifth day of a ceasefire between Israel and Palestinian militants Hamas.

Since a six-week ceasefire between Israel and Palestinian militant organization Hamas came into force on Sunday, more and more aid has been reaching the Gaza Strip, according to the UN's Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

All official movement of U.N. staff into or within Houth-held areas had been suspended to protect the safety of staff. The U.N. was actively engaging with senior Houthi representatives to demand the immediate and unconditional release of all its detained personnel and partners.
