The Biltmore Estate is assessing damage and will remain temporarily closed after devastating rain from Tropical Storm Helene caused catastrophic flooding in the Asheville area. What we know so far.

Nearby Historic Biltmore Village, a walkable mixed-use community with shops, restaurants, and residences, has suffered catastrophic damage. Images show that much of the area was underwater, with downed trees, overturned vehicles, and impassable roads.

In the River Arts District of Asheville, the French Broad River rose to over 16 feet at one point over the weekend.

Now, the area is experiencing historic flooding thanks to Helene and is largely underwater.
