Utah Transit Authority is celebrating with commuters by turning the TRAX Red Line into the Heart Line and hosting a Valentine’s Day event on Friday and Saturday between 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. The Love Train is a special Valentine's Day-themed ride on the TRAX Red Line that departs from Courthouse Station at 5:32 p.

The on-rail mixer is restricted to passengers ranging in ages from 18 to 35. BART says the event is open to people of all sexual orientations and will feature "icebreaker activities, conversation starters, and BART-themed Valentines" that people can give to each other during the ride.

The Rapid Transit system will be reserving a train for a speed dating event on Feb. 14. Although slots are already filled, a BART spokeswoman said that they may plan more events like this

Both BART and The O'Jays' song "Love Train" debuted in 1972, and while the transit agency has recorded several "meet cute" encounters on its platforms and train cars over the years, this is the first year it's hosting a purposefully romantic event.
