S&P 500 and Dow tag all-time highs, Nasdaq also jumps in the wake of the Fed's 50bp rate cut
Wall Street's major market averages rose sharply on Thursday, with the S&P 500 (SP500) opening at an all-time trading high as it crossed above 5,700. Moreover, the bluechip Dow (DJI) also notched a new record high as it crossed above 42K.

Technology stocks weighed on the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq on Monday as caution set in ahead of the Federal Reserve's pivotal monetary policy decision, due later in the week, with a majority of traders pricing in a steep reduction in borrowing costs.
Sensex, Nifty Climb After Bumper Fed Rate Cut
The benchmark S&P/BSE Sensex jumped 533 points, or 0.6 percent, to 83,481 in early trade while the broader NSE Nifty index was up 145 points, or 0.6 percent, at 25,522. Among the top gainers, Grasim, Tata Consumer Products, Bajaj Auto and NTPC climbed 2-3 percent.
