Eagles coach Nick Sirianni and Commanders tight end Zach Ertz cleared the air after they exchanged words following Washington’s comeback win over Philadelphia on Sunday.

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni and Washington Commanders tight end Zach Ertz needed to be separated after an altercation following their Week 16 matchup last Sunday, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Washington (10-5) would need to defeat its Week 17 opponent in the Atlanta Falcons on "Sunday Night Football" in addition to an Eagles loss to still be in contention for the NFC East crown in its final game. A win will clinch it a playoff berth regardless.

Jalen Hurts may sit out a potential NFC East clincher against Dallas because of the lingering effects of a concussion. The Eagles could also just rest Hurts to play it safe -- even if he’s medically cleared ahead of Sunday’s game -- and protect their franchise QB from additional injury over the final two games.

Few rivalries in the NFL top the battles within the NFC East division, perhaps none larger than the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys. That matchup is on deck during the NFL's Week 17 slate. The Cowboys (7-8) have had little to play for in recent weeks.
