World Juniors are officially underway. The annual IIHF tournament is a chance for the best U20 prospects from around the globe to compete on the biggest stage of their young playing careers while also representing their country.

The United States, which went undefeated in winning last year's world junior hockey championship, will look to improve to 2-0 Saturday at this year's tournament in Ottawa. But standing in the way is a Latvia team that pulled off a massive upset against host Canada on Friday.

On the second day of the 2025 World Juniors, two of three Vancouver Canucks prospects took part in the tournament’s games. Team Canada’s Sawyer Mynio was not registered to start the tournament, and sat out tonight in the team’s game against Latvia.

Welcome to Day 3 of the 2025 World Juniors in Ottawa. But first, what happened last night? The story of Day 2 was undoubtedly Latvia’s 3-2 shootout win over a lacklustre Canadian team.
