My Firewall is Blocking Printer/Scanner - Microsoft Community
Jan 15, 2021 · I have Windows Defender Firewall and Avira Antivirus in operation. I tried turning off my firewall, or resetting it to default, but the scanner still would not work. This would suggest it is not a firewall-related issue, but I'm not sure. I also tried to play around with outbound rules, which didn't help either.
Add IP address and URL to Windows Defender Firewall Exclusion.

Dec 6, 2020 · By design, when you install a 3rd party Antivirus (Kaspersky Security Cloud for example) it will disable Windows Firewall or other antivirus software to avoid conflict. I believe my PC was attacked and I've been going through the security settings and noticed almost all the apps have permission to Communicate through the firewall. Some of the apps I don't use or ever heard of, like 3D Builder. The settings page is also split between Private and Public. Since I'm using a desktop, can I uncheck all the Public boxes?
