Dec 26, 2022 · N64 could read (especially random) much faster from the ROM than Sony could from the CD. But you got A LOT more data on a CD, which was mostly used for audio. In the end many games put a lot of the data, like textures, multiple times on the CD because they had the space and it was faster to read the data in one go than having to seek over the disc.

Feb 13, 2024 · This was built inspired by Hearto's 1g1r collection, so it's similar in a lot of aspects: It doesn't include bad dumps, hacks, fixed, patched or cracked ROMs. Retool was used for trimming all sets. Region preference was setup with Retool's default order for English speakers: USA, World, Canada, Europe, UK, etc.

If you have the concept of "complete <Platform> ROMset" then it's not exactly uncommon to see people will wanting a subset of said ROMs to play, perhaps from the region they grew up playing the original platform on. And, hell, such ROMsets already exist.
