So slightly better camera, screen brightness, noticeably better battery life, reduced notch size, 128 Gb base storage and slightly faster, more efficient A15 chip. I got them both.

Sep 16, 2024 · I installed ios18 on my iPhone 13 mini last Monday when it was first released, and my performance has been TERRIBLE. Runs very hot. Extremely unresponsive and battery runs out quickly. I have 512 gig with more than half of that free space. Do not recommend updating.

So, that just really means you will not receive any updates at all, if you refuse to go higher OS version. If you choose to replace battery with Apple, they might force you to upgrade to latest OS.

Yes, it is up near the top edge of the phone. I learned by paying with the phone. I like those credit card machines that have the target encircled with flashing LEDs best.
