Oct 1, 2006 · You can always use the Probe series of pistons for your engine. They are for use with C/C heads and the domes are solid and can easily be tailored to fit. They start with 18 cc's. Will give between 10:1/11:1 with C/C heads. Domes are machineable down to flat-tops. Will work with either 6.135 rods or 6.385's.

Feb 22, 2021 · People dont realize that a lot of the old TRW / Sealed Power forged pistons that were the same as the factory pistons all ran very tight clearances. I have three different old catalogs here and they all show the same clearance, .0015" which is the same as the Chevy oem spec for the 390 horsepower 427 The factory spec is actually .0009 to .0015

Oct 7, 2020 · They were sold under the Speed Pro banner. My 1990 Speed Pro catalogue does not list that particular piston. It lists 7044P, 7045P, 7027P & 7001P forged domed pistons for a 283 Chev. I do use Sealed Power Hypereutetics at times but use the two valve relief ones with the standard pin ht (compressin ht). They cost more, I know but they also work very well and usually clear 600 plus lift cams eaisly in the SB Chevy. Ed PS. Never used an Engine ...
