Dec 12, 2024 · I find Bluepoint's remakes shockingly bad because their efforts are misdirected and have only strayed further from their source material as time has gone on. If they remade SotC now it would look even less like SotC and they'd likely have corrupted the soundtrack with epic choir throughout.

They're incredible artists, and can create some very, very good-looking games... but they have done so whilst replacing the work of other artists. They're creating cover versions of songs that aren't available to listen to anymore. Shot-for-shot remakes of films that you can only find on dusty-old VHS tapes.

Jun 19, 2024 · Bluepoint have been talking about building up their resources and staff to tackle an original title since the release of Shadow of the Colossas on PS4 in 2018. I doubt they were planning a GoW spin off game way back then. Although plans can change, I'd be shocked if that rumour turned out to be true.

It seems like Demon's Souls was kind of the "final test", and based on positive reactions, and the fact that Bluepoints work ethic has proven impressive once again Sony started acquisition-based talks with the studio.
