Juvenile Receiving Centers (JRC) are located across the state for law enforcement officers to drop off arrested, delinquent, ungovernable, or runaway youth who do not meet admission guidelines for secure detention.

Split Mountain Youth Center - Washington County Youth Center - Weber Valley Youth Center Home Detention: Home Detention is a community alternative to secure detention for pre-adjudicated youths waiting for final disposition of their current charges. Youths are ordered to a Secure Care facility by a Utah Juvenile Court Judge. Upon commitment, the Youth Parole Authority assumes responsibility. Once committed, youths are assessed to determine their rehabilitative needs and areas of focus to reduce their risk of reoffending.

The youth receives a Detention Hearing within 48 hours. The Detention Hearing decides whether the youth will remain in Locked Detention, Home Detention, return home, or to a less restrictive placement until the youth has a Juvenile Court Hearing.

Through This Model, Utah Delivers Evidence Based, Individualized Youth And Family Plans With Early Screening, Assessment, Plan Management, And Comprehensive Access To Services--All Driven By The Youth And Family Strengths And Needs.
